Job Description: Phlebotomist

Position Overview

We are seeking a Phlebotomist to join our team. This hospital-based role offers the opportunity to be the face of Labcorp by delivering exceptional customer service and skilled specimen collection while supporting patient care in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform blood collection via venipuncture and capillary techniques across all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity testing, and alcohol testing
• Accurately enter patient and specimen data
• Process billing and collect payments as required
• Prepare specimens for lab testing and analysis
• Maintain logs and documentation for patients and specimens
• Provide outstanding customer service and support
• Handle administrative and clerical duties as needed
• Travel to additional collection sites when required
• Receive, sort, and prepare clinical lab specimens
• Operate and maintain lab equipment and perform minor maintenance
• Troubleshoot specimen-related issues
• Replenish testing supplies and maintain clean, safe workstations
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to meet quality and safety standards
• Complete required record logs and documentation accurately

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or equivalent
• Preferred: Phlebotomy certification from an accredited agency
• Previous phlebotomy experience
• Proven record of excellent customer service
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently or in a team
• Comfortable with minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation and clean driving record (if applicable)
• Flexibility to work overtime if needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Work Schedule

• Days: Monday through Friday
• Hours: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM
• Additional: Rotating weekends required
